6. ENGINE REMOVAL Mongoose/KXR 90/50

Drain engine oil and transmission oil.
(Refer to chapter 3)
Remove frame covers and exhaust pipe.
(Refer chapter 2)
Remove air cleaner and carburetor. (Refer
to chapter 5)
Remove the two bolts on the drive sprocket. Drive Sprocket
Remove the drive sprocket and washer.
A.C. Generator/Starter Motor Couplers
Remove the spark plug cap.
Disconnect the A.C. generator and starter
motor couplers.

Bolt and Nut Bolt and Nut
Remove the front two mounting bolts and
two nuts at the engine right/left side.
Remove the four bolts and then remove the
left and right engine brackets at the engine
right/left side.

Inlet Hose
Remove the rear two mounting bolts and
two nuts.
Disconnect the inlet hose from the frame.
