COOLING SYSTEM TESTING
RADIATOR CAP INSPECTION Radiator Tester
Install the radiator cap onto the radiator
tester and apply specified pressure to it. It
must hold specified pressure for at least six
seconds.
Apply water to the sealing cap surface
before testing.
Radiator Cap Relief Pressure: Radiator Cap
0.90.15 kg/cm
Install the radiator tester onto the radiator
and apply specified pressure to it. It must Radiator Cap
hold specified pressure for at least six
seconds.
Check the water hoses and connectors for
leaks.
The test pressure should not exceed
1.05 kg/cm. Excessive pressure can
damage the radiator and its hose
connectors.
COOLANT REPLACEMENT
The engine must be cool before serving
the cooling system, or severe scalding
may result.
Open the radiator protector and remove the
radiator cap.
Place a drain pan under the water pump
and drain the coolant from the system by
removing the drain bolt.
