Regulator/Rectifier

MAIN HARNESS CIRCUIT INSPECTION
Remove the front covers. ( 2-2)
Remove the regulator/rectifier 4P coupler and
check for continuity between the wire harness
terminals according to the following :
Item (Wire Color) Judgment
Between battery (red) Battery has
and engine ground voltage
Between ground (green) Continuity exists
and engine ground
Between c.d.i wire
(black/blue) and engine
ground (Remove the auto A.C. generator
bystarter coupler and stator nought
turn the lighting switch resistance
OFF for inspection)
Between charging coil A.C. generator
(yellow or peach) and stator nought
engine ground resistance Black
REGULATOR/RECTIFIER
REMOVAL
Remove the regulator/rectifier lock nut and
disconnect the regulator/rectifier wire
coupler.
Measure the resistances between the
regulator/rectifier wire terminals. Replace the Peach Red Yellow Green
regulator/rectifier if the readings are not
within the specifications in the table below.
· Due to the semiconductor in circuit, it (+)Probe
is necessary to use a specified tester for Peach Yellow Red Green Black
accurate testing. Use of an improper (-)Probe
tester or measurements in an improper
range may give false readings. Peach 4-7K
· Use a Sanwa Electric Tester or Kowa Yellow 4-7K
Electric Tester for testing.

Range for the Sanwa Tester: xK
Range for the Kowa Tester: x100 Green 4-6K 4-6K 13-17K 1-2K
