13. FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM Downtown 300i ABS
O2 SENSOR
The O2 sensor issues signal to ECU when
the temperature is over 350°C during the
engine is working.
The temperature is up to 350°C earlier than
the muffler for O2 heater sensor. So the O2
sensor begins performance.
The function of O2 sensor only controls the
fuel injector operation.
INSPECTION
Disconnect the O2 sensor connector.
Measure the resistance between each White
wire terminals of the O2 sensor side
connector.
Standard: 7.71.2 (at 20°C/68°F)
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Disconnect the O2 sensor connector and then
remove it from exhaust muffler.
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
Apply anti-seize compound on the surface
of thread area before O2 sensor
Tighten the O2 sensor to specified torque.
Torque: 2.5 kgf-m (25 N-m, 18 lbf-ft)
