 FRONT SUSPENSION
 REMOVAL AND INSPECTION
 Elevate the front wheels by placing a
 suitable stand under the frame.

    Support the machine securely so there is
    no danger of it falling over.
 Remove the front wheel (page 14-3), caliper
 (page 13-9) and front wheel hub. (page 14-
 4)

 Remove the two bolts and brake disk               Nut
 protection plate.

                                                               Tie-rod
 Remove the cotter pins, washer and nuts
 from tie-rod, upper and lower front arm.

                                                   Tie-rod Ball Join Remover
 Release the tie-rod ball joint off the knuckle,
 using the special tool according to the
 following instructions.

 Special tool:
    Tie-rod ball join remover          F011

 Apply grease to the ball joint remover at the
 point shown.
 This will ease installation of the tool and
 prevent damage to the pressure bolt threads.
 Insert the jaws carefully, making sure that
 you do not damage the ball joint boot.                            Apply grease
 Adjust the jaw spacing by turning the
 pressure bolt.
 Tighten the pressure bolt with a wrench
 until the ball joint stud pops loose.
 Remove the knuckle from the upper and
 lower arms
