3. INSPECTION/ADJUSTMENT PEOPLE 125/150
carbon deposits have accumulated on the
combustion chamber and the piston head.

IGNITION TIMING
The CDI unit is not adjustable. If the
ignition timing is incorrect, check the
ignition system. ( 15-6)
Remove the rear right side cover.
Remove the timing hole cap.
Timing Light
Check the ignition timing with a timing light.
When the engine is running at idle speed, the
ignition timing is correct if the "F" mark on
the flywheel aligns with the index mark on
the crankcase.
Also use a timing light to check the advance Advance Mark
mark.
Raise the engine speed to 5,000rpm and the
index mark on the crankcase should be
aligned with the advance mark on the
flywheel.
CYLINDER COMPRESSION
Warm up the engine before compression test.
Remove the met-in box and frame center
cover. ( 2)
Remove the spark plug .
Insert a compression gauge.
Open the throttle valve fully and push the "F" Mark
starter button to test the compression.
Compression: 12.8kg/cm-570rpm
If the compression is low, check for the
following:
- Leaky valves
- Valve clearance to small
- Leaking cylinder head gasket
- Piston rings are worn out.
- Piston/cylinder is worn out.
If the compression is high, it indicates that
