PERFORMANCE TEST Ignition Coil CDI Tester
Test the performance with a CDI tester.
· Operate the CDI tester by following Spark Window
the manufacturer`s instructions.
· Use the special connector to connect
the CDI unit.
If the spark is weak, inspect the spark plug
and CDI unit. If both of them are normal,
replace the ignition coil with a new one.

REMOVAL
Remove the left side cover.
Disconnect the CDI unit coupler and
remove the CDI unit.
INSPECTION
Black/White Black/Red Green
Measure the resistance between the CDI
unit terminals.
Replace the CDI unit if the readings are not
within the specifications in the table below.
The CDI unit is fully transistorized. For
accurate testing, it is necessary to use a
specified tester. Use of an improper
tester or measurements in an improper
range may give false readings.
